Sandaine leads the Tigers to 15-8 victory
Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Tuesday as the Tigers outscored the Bulldogs 15-8 in six innings.
Hitters on both sides were strong at the plate as the teams combined for 21 hits, including seven extra base hits.
Ty Sandaine pulled double duty, leading the Tigers on both offense and defense in the win. Sandaine went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the Tigers. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth inning.
The Bulldogs couldn't get anything going as long as Sandaine was pitching. The
Bulldogs managed just one hit off of the the Tigers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his two innings of work.
Nine runs in the first three innings helped the Tigers blow out the Bulldogs. A steal of home by Dawson Flugel in the first inning and a two-run double by Flugel, an RBI single by Charlie Andrews, and a steal of home by Flugel during the second inning fueled the Tigers' offense early.
The Tigers added four more runs in the top of the third. A steal of home scored Sandaine for the inning's first run. That was followed up by a walk by Braxton Fitzsimmons that scored Austin Reed.
The Tigers piled on three more runs in the top of the fourth. Elliott started the inning with a double, plating Andrews. That was followed up by Reed's single, scoring Elliott.
Five runs in the bottom of the fourth helped the Bulldogs close their deficit to 13-8. An RBI single by Brandon, a walk by Jordan, a steal of home by Matt, and a two-run triple by Travis triggered the Bulldogs' comeback.Fitzsimmons ended the inning by getting Leo to ground out.
The Tigers increased their lead with two runs in the fifth. A double by Andres ignited the offense, bringing home Nick Chamberlin. That was followed up by Sandaine’s single, scoring Andrews.
